Platform Abuse:

Use bots, scrapers, or automated tools without written permission
Attempt to bypass rate limits, CAPTCHAs, or security measures
Manipulate voting, karma scores, or rankings through fake accounts or coordinated abuse
Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
Introduce viruses, malware, or malicious code

Account Abuse:

Create multiple accounts to evade bans or manipulate content
Share your account with others or use someone else's account
Impersonate another person or entity
Buy, sell, or transfer accounts

Harassment:

Harass, threaten, or intimidate other users
Doxx or share private information about others without consent
Brigade, coordinate attacks, or mass-report users or content

3.3 Consequences of Violations

Violations of this Acceptable Use Policy may result in:

Content removal - Violating content deleted immediately
Warning - First-time minor violations may receive a warning
Temporary suspension - Account access restricted for a period (e.g., 7 days)
Permanent ban - Serious or repeated violations result in account termination

4. Content Ownership and Licensing

4.1 Your Content

You retain full ownership of all content you create on OyList, including lists, comments, descriptions, and images you upload.

4.2 License You Grant to OyList

By posting content on OyList, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable, and transferable license to display, distribute, modify, and promote your content on the platform.

Important clarifications:

This license does NOT transfer ownership - you still own your content
This license is necessary for basic functionality (e.g., showing your list to other users)
You can revoke this license by deleting your content or deleting your account

4.3 User-Uploaded Images and Liability

IMPORTANT: You are solely responsible for all images you upload to OyList.

When you upload images (avatars, list item images, etc.), you represent and warrant that:

You own the rights to the image OR have explicit permission to use it
The image does NOT infringe any copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights
The image does NOT contain illegal, obscene, or inappropriate content
The image does NOT violate any person's privacy or publicity rights

OyList's Role as a Platform:

OyList is a service provider and hosting platform, NOT the creator or publisher of user-uploaded content
We do NOT pre-screen images before they are uploaded
We are NOT responsible for content uploaded by users
We rely on DMCA safe harbor provisions and community reporting to identify and remove violating content

Reporting Inappropriate or Infringing Images:

If you see an image that violates these Terms or infringes your rights:

For immediate removal - Click the "Report" button on the content
For copyright claims - File a DMCA takedown notice (see DMCA Policy)
For illegal content - Report to [email protected] immediately

Consequences of Uploading Violating Images:

First violation: Image removed, warning issued
Repeated violations: Account suspension or permanent ban
Illegal content: Account terminated, reported to law enforcement
Copyright infringement: DMCA takedown, potential account termination for repeat offenders

You agree to indemnify and hold OyList harmless from any claims, damages, or legal action arising from images you upload.

5. Content Moderation

5.1 Our Role

OyList is a platform, not a publisher. We do not:

Pre-screen all content before it's posted
Endorse or guarantee the accuracy of user-generated content
Assume responsibility for user behavior

However, we actively moderate the platform to maintain quality and safety.

5.2 Moderation Methods

We use a combination of:

Automated moderation - AI services analyze reported content for spam, hate speech, and policy violations
Community reporting - Users can report content that violates our policies
Human review - Our moderation team reviews reports and makes final decisions
Trust scores - Karma system rewards positive contributions and flags abusive users

6. Copyright and DMCA

OyList respects intellectual property rights and complies with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).

Accuracy - We do not guarantee the accuracy of user-generated content or third-party metadata

Fitness for purpose - We do not guarantee that OyList meets your specific needs

7.2 Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OYLIST SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:

Indirect damages - Loss of profits, data, goodwill, or opportunity
Consequential damages - Arising from your use or inability to use the Service
User conduct - Actions or content posted by other users
